Risk Management & Analysis

(including Quantitative risk analysis)

All investment decisions are beset by risks of varying degrees which may threaten the achievement of successful outcomes.

Risk management is a process which is designed to identify, analyse, evaluate, and possibly treat positive or negative risks which may be associated with a project.

What we do

Guiding Tomorrow's Prosperity: Mitigating Risks, Maximizing Returns: Aalto's Approach to Risk Management and Analysis

Aalto has a long track record of managing and analysing risks – both in a structured, qualitative manner (high, medium, low) and as quantified / monetised risks which are converted into expected costs to be faced (unless they are intentionally reduced).

Risk management and analysis is a core capability, relevant to economic and financial analyses and included in investment business cases as part of a wholistic assessment of options.

Risk management and analysis brings together subject matter experts (SMEs) who have the specialist background to nominate the likelihood and consequence for individual events  or to identify their financial or economic costs.

Aalto’s core expertise lies in the design and facilitation of risk workshops involving such SMEs, to draw up a list of valid and defensible risks, and their mitigations, and to translate them to estimated risk costs via monte carlo (probabilistic) modelling using @Risk and other tools.

All of our risk management and analysis is prepared in a transparent and fully auditable manner, and typically all source material and analysis is shared with our clients as part of our package of outputs.
